Where is she now?

Just dropping in ever-so-briefly to say hi... I've just begun settling into my summer job in Special Collections, so I'm already at a loss for time again, not to mention that my weekly meetings with one of my prelim advisors start back up imminently. And then there's the newest time-sucking vortex in my life ... The Wire. As you can see, I'm a very busy girl again. I did manage to squeeze in a lunch date with Liz K. and Ashley this past Saturday (How could I refuse such great company? I could not). As you can see, we had a fabulous time eating delicious Japanese cuisine, sipping wine, and knitting. This really should become a regular occurrence. Thanks for a fabulous time, girls!

I've managed to get a little bit of knitting in, though I already feel like I have to schedule it in, like I do during the school year. The first Child's First Sock is fresh off the needles (and already desiring to be worn with fab purple shoes), and now I am in the midst of a surprise quickie project for M ... more on that soon.

Back to braving the muggy day...

those are so beautiful - they really set those purple shoes off! We have several schools around here named Bryn Mawr - weird!

I am so jealous that you can wear those shoes. I tried them on last year and they made my feet look absurd. And I have small feet!

Maybe they would have looked better with pretty knit socks...

I've been told that The Wire ought to become my next time-suck as well, to fill the void where there once was Battlestar. Unfortunately my dvd player has begun refusing to play anything but Arrested Development. Seriously.

Anyway, your sock is so pretty it makes me want to knit that pattern all over again. And buy shoes to go with, of course. So freakin cute.

I just love it that you are working in a Special Collections - there really is a link between archaeology and library work :) we both found it!

Great socks, great shoes, and what a fun time with friends on Saturday!

Perfect sock and shoes! Studying for prelims isn't much fun, but I hope it goes well for you. It's the last time people really try to make you feel stupid.

Glad you had a fun time this past weekend.

Those shoes are adorable - not to mention the most fabulous shade of purple I've ever seen! And the socks are great, too. Great color choice - I'm sure they'll get lots of wear.

Now now, Michael--watch it or I'll start counting up the Choco Tacos consumed at the ArtStar Craft Fair.

Love the socks with the shoes. All so silky and shiny.

Wow, sounds like your back to the grind once again! At least your position as Special Collections could prove to be super cool!

The sock looks wonderful--I just started on that same pattern myself! I like the mild color with the bold pattern!

Once again, I am revealed to be a boozy knitter. I had a great time, and do hope we get together more often.

And yes, please post about those damn cute shoes! Even us tiny girls need cute flats.

The Wire. It is the only thing I will watch from TV now, that too on DVD. It's difficult to stop with just one or two episodes. What season are you on? It gets better.. I just finished Season 3 last month.

Nice sock!

I hardly ever ever ever buy solid coloured sock yarn but then when I see what knitbloggers like you have done with solid coloured yarn I go wild and decide I must have it!
Your socks have done that to me! Must have! :) Also...those shoes...I need them.
Like now. :)

Beautiful!

Beautiful socks.
We watched a few episodes of the Wire, but I had to take a break. I might go back to it this summer. It was a little to close to home....well not fore me as I'm not involved in any drug cartel or with any Baltimore cops. But I work with those stupid kids who talk crap to police officers and get their buts beat. Great show though....although the cops do seem to get drunk in their cars alot ;)
