Edwin Claudius Cat Candy Friday.
Warning: Self-indulgent, cat-heavy post ahead: those with kitty allergies or those who are easily bored with non-knitting pet content, this post is not for you.
This is a Special Edition post, dedicated to Edwin Claudius Cat. I am making up for his rare appearances on le blog, though he is an integral part of my daily life.
Edwin spends the greatest part of his existence doing this
and this,
a little of this, and a whole lot of that.
On occasion, he does other things. Like this,
and this and this.
What a guy.
Edwin: he's one bad muthua. No, really he is. He can definitely defend himself against the towel of doom, which he gets wrapped in when he has his claws clipped. (That's poor M's mangled hand--it happened once, and now there is some serious dual-person cat-wrangling during claw-clipping).
Who knew that I'd get so little knitting done during spring break?? Oh, the irony. When you have the leisure to do it, you don't; all other times, you want to do nothing but. Go figure.
Have a terrific Friday! (As sleet tinks against my windows on a mid-March morning).

What a beautiful orange cat! It's so fun to watch cats playing in the curtains :)
Aw, Edwin Claudius is a sweetheart! Well, except for clawing up your hand, ouch! I love how cats always try to fit themselves into the smallest box possible.
I think our cats were separated at birth. My cat Felix loves to hide in our curtains. We are quite sure that he thinks we can't see him even though the curtains are sheer and he can most certainly see through them. And I hate nail clipping day, it is a two person job and we still get scratched.
that is so true - when you have all the time in the world, time seems to fly and you get nothing done - when you are busy, you make time for things!
love the ode to claudius post - he is adorable!!!
Having met ECC in person, I would like to add that he is easily the size of a leopard. Or at least a cheetah. I wanted to steal him and take him home.
Oh! I used to have a cat just like him. Except she was a she.
I'm the same way about knitting. I do better when my time is more scheduled.
Your post brought a smile to my face. Edwin Claudius is wonderful. It looks like he may have a box fetish - I recognize this because my cat, Pansy, loves a good box. I kept an empty box from a KnitPicks order for a month because she enjoyed it so much.

Yay for cat blogging! Edwin Claudius is one gorgeous kitty! My little feline, Miss Frida, is smitten!
When I go out with my friends I sometimes have to repeat to myself "Don't talk about your cat. Don't talk about your cat." Because, really, none of them care if he did that cute thing with his nose this morning.
And I'm the say way with my blog ("Don't blog about Otto. No one wants to see more picture of the damn cat."), but it's so nice to see that other people post photos and still look cool :)
Love Edwin! He's a champ.
De-lurking to say "what a great post!" I have two orange male tabbies and I can't imagine my life without them. They make regular appearances on my blog too - there's no such thing as too many cat posts!!
That first picture is great-love the stripes on his tail.
Aww, he's a looker for sure...I am also getting zero knitting done during Spring Break. I think you need work in order to make leisure possible, that's my theory.
I am now in love with Claudius. He looks fab against your green wall (I now want a green wall).
I too love how cats will cram themselves into boxes.
(If it wasn't for Mr Moe's allergies, Sophie would definitely have her own kitty).
Spring Break....come baaaack!
So sad; I didn't get to knit much either. Boooo.
What a cute little guy. :D
What an adorable cat! I'm more of a dog person but cats really fascinate me and I would love to have one some day. And these photos don't help! :)
Edwin does have the sharp claw thing going. You need to come home and teach me the towel trick ... Shadow needs a trim BAD!!! Really loved the cat post; great pictures.
Love ya!
That last picture may be the most regal photo of a house cat that I have seen in a long time. How lovely! So, how's the weather in your part of PA? It sucks in Stroudsburg right now.
Edwin is utterly adorable.
Hey, be thankful you got a spring break, even if it wasn't conducive to knitting.
Edwin Claudius Cat has such a grand name. he looks so charming- despite the apparent *ahem* bad temper. naughty edwin.
and however you spend your break {knitting or -tsk tsk- no knitting}, may it be refreshing and relaxing! :0)
Oh, he is so handsome. I like your pink tub too!
I like the idea of Cat Candy Friday. I am going to be a copycat (grin) and have Cat Candy Friday on my blog (needle-to-needle.blogspot.com). Hope you don't mind. I enjoyed your pictures very much.
