Poking my head in, if only for a brief moment.
Hi, remember me? I'm that girl who shows you knitting sometimes. And on very rare occasions, a finished, wearable thing, even. Yes, yes, I understand all of the blank, beguiled looks. It HAS been quite some time since I've actually produced stitches on needles for your viewing pleasure. But wait...
Here's some now! A sock in progress! And... and...
There's more! Another sock in progress!
Left: Child's First Sock in progress, knit in Lorna's Laces Shepherd sock, "Firefly"
Right: Clementine's Baltic Socks in progress, knit in Blue Moon Fiber Arts STR lightweight, "Rose Quartz"
And now back to my regularly scheduled unraveling sanity and the academic work load that never ends...

Another knitter in academic distress poking her head to say: What beautiful socks!!! Now back to our part-time job schedule.
Don't dispair...I should make it to the post office soon.
Summer is in sight! Don't despair, dear academic-knitter. You'll get there.
And hey, those are some nice looking socks. I love the yellow.
Hang in there! The socks look wonderful! Sock knitting is a balm, I'm convinced.
Wow, two beautiful socks! Beware of the short heel flap on the CFS :)
They are both gorgeous. I'm glad you are finding a bit of time to knit.
I love that yellow.
It's amazing that you find time! and goodness me, both are so gorgeous!
Good luck~
summer is almost here (or the end of the term anyway) - hang in there!
oh oh oh i need some of that firefly! damn!
love that delicious looking yellow! yum, yum!
thanks for the glimpse! what awesome springy socks!!!
Child's first sock looks so different in that color! Nice choice!
Wow, that rose quartz yarn is beautiful. I think I saw it over at Stephanie Pearl-McPhee's blog, too....right?
Very pretty socks! The pink ones are particularly lovely.
Always nice to see you poke your head up once in a while! We're all still here!
I hear ya!! Hang in there...
Beautiful socks btw.
Nice little teaser. The end of the semester will be here before you know it...yay.
Those are beautiful! Hope life slows down a bit for you soon.
That Firefly yellow is gorgeous! You just bumped the Child's First Sock up several spaces on my to-knit list.
Hang in, take care, etc. -- summer will be here before you know it. :)
I love the firefly colrway! I was planning on picking that up for myself as a "congrats for finishing exams" gift in a few weeks. The color really brings out the pattern in the sock.
Good luck, good luck, good luck on all of your crapademic commitments-it will be over soon!
ohhhh love both those socks yummy!
I really love that firefly color! Your socks (both) look great. I hope they'll get you through the end of the semester!!! At this point in the semester, I'm bribing myself with sock knitting. There's no shame in it!
Oh yeah, and I second Kristy's warning about a short heel flap on CFS.
Lovely! Mmm... that firefly looks very nice. Fortunately I already own the Rose Quarts! ;-)
Those are some rockin' Project Spectrum socks! (That was much easier to type than it was to say out loud.)
LOVE the colors and yarns you're using. And thanks for posting the link to that pattern - I'm itching for knitting again and that pattern is just calling out to me.
Both socks are stunning, as usual.
BTW the bath I took last night w/ the Lemongrass Sea salts was the best 30 minutes I've spent in a very long time. My mood was foul prior to the bath and during I was able to experience utter relaxation--thank you!!
Lovely stuff! Just think only a few brief weeks til summer & lots of time to knit!
Oh the firefly looks GORGEOUS! I have some sitting in the lounge room. The volume of its call just turned up a notch :)
Those socks look gorgeous. I like the pattern on the rose socks. So pretty. You're so sweet to buy my Autumn yarn. Thanks so much for your support.
Lovely textures!
I'm usually not a yellow person, but I'm digging the Lorna's Laces firefly. That stitch pattern really looks great in that colorway.
You hang in there! It will be better, I promise. And what would not get better with such lovely socks? :)
You single handedly reminded me that I do like knitting socks. Yours are so great and I am sure they will help you hang on to the end of term. Good luck!
Your socks are gorgeous! I love them both.
what soft, cuhsy, LUSH-looking socks. Hang in there - the end is in sight!
socks are gorgeous, I love the yellow. if only we had more time to knit...
Wonderful texture!
Oh what beautiful cables. And believe me, I sympathize about the academic work. I'd much rather be crafting then doing loads of reading.
I just discovered your blog through flickr, and have enjoyed reading some of your past posts. I especially love the socks that you're working on, they both look great!
I'm also another knitter feeling the end of the semester crunch...why does it always get so crazy 2 weeks out! So many math simulations and so little time, especially when I'd rather be knitting.
Hang in there!
yay! if you really want to do something you will always find the time somewhere. whether it's hidden in a corner or under a pillow, you will catch it! ;0)
love the socks. i have wanted to knit the baltic socks for like ever! you have just reminded me. :0)
Oh My! Your socks are beautiful! I especially like the Baltic Sea pattern. Do you know where I can purchase a copy in english? I followed your links but only found the pattern in German.
Absolutely gorgeous! Oh and I ma new here by the way. This is my first time posting.
So, 40 comments late, a big MEE TOO on the drowning-in-academia stuff. But oh how I heart your socks. I want some of that thar Rose Quartz, and I want it NOW.
